Slick’s 12/5 Saturday NCAA Football Picks

Yeah Baby!!!  It’s Championship Saturday and I am excited!!!

I am running late so no big write ups just the picks Baby, just the picks.

Houston (-2.5) at ECU

As bad as the Houston defense is, I just don’t see ECU being able to keep up with Case Keenum and the most explosive offense in college football.  The Cougars cover on the road.

Cincinnati (-2) at Pittsburgh

The Bearcats have come too far to just let it slip away now…I am a VERY big Tony Pike fan and I believe they are just too balanced for Pitt to deal with.  Cinci still smell a chance at a BCS title and they take care of business today.

Georgia Tech (-1) at Clemson

I’ve been riding GT and that option all year and after watching Clemson look as bad as they did last week against South Carolina, I just don’t see them being able to stop John Nesbitt  and the GT offense today.

Texas vs. Nebraska (+14)

As much as I would love to see Texas fall outright in this game so I could see the BCS people go crazy, I don’t see them winning this game but I do see them keeping this one close.

Florida (-5) vs. Alabama

I have never gone against Tim Tebow in a big game and I won’t do it now.  Superman will play his heart out today and Urban Meyer will have just enough tricks up his sleeve to win the SEC Championship and to be able to play in the BCS Championship game.  Mark Ingram in banged up and if you thought he had trouble last week, the Gators will be all over him.  Get ready for the Gators and the Longhorns for the BCS title.

After missing a week of the NFL, I am rejuvenated and ready to go…

Washington at Philadelphia (-9.5)

This is a must win for the Eagles.  After watching the Dallas win and the Giants get smoked on Turkey day, this is their time to rise in the ranks of the NFC East.  The Redskins still can’t score and they are now on their 3rd string running back.  What’s worse is that their number one lineman (Albert Haynesworth) and their number one defensive back (DeAngelo Hall) is out.  If you can’t score and when your best players on defense are out on the road, that pretty much means that you’re toast.  The Eagles roll in this one.

Arizona at Tennessee (-2)

The Cardinals are on the track while the train is coming.  The Titans are 4-0 SU and ATS in their last 4 and their confidence is growing.  Kurt Warner isn’t really 100 percent after the injury he suffered last week.  Chris Johnson is (sorry AP) starting to become the most dangerous non passer in the NFL and I just don’t see the Cardinal defense stopping him.  It also looks a little rainy in Tennessee which is definitely looking good for the Titans.  Even though it seems that the Cards play better on the road, let me tell you, I’m riding this train until it stops.  Titans by at least a field goal.

UPSET of the WEEK

Chicago (+10.5) at Minnesota over 47

I know what you’re thinking…Slick has lost his mind!!!  If you have read my blog this year then you know that at times you have to take a stand and root for a quarterback that is having problems.  Today, that QB is Jay Cutler.  Da Bears are 4-0 ATS in their last four games where they are getting this many points.  Peterson and Harvin aren’t exactly 100 percent and this game just has letdown all over it as the Bears have been playing like creampuffs lately.  The turf might just be what those speedy receivers for the Bears need today to get going.  The over is 5-1-1 in their last 7 meetings so I expect for the Bears to keep this one close in a shootout.

Tampa Bay at Atlanta (-12.5)

Today is the day that Matt Ryan will look like the Matt Ryan from last year.  Let’s face it, the Bucs have only won one damn game and they can’t stop anybody on defense (27th overall) and now it has been found out that Micheal Turner will play today which spells doom for the the defense that is ranked last against the run.  The Falcons are undefeated at home 4-0 SU and ATS and the Bucs are terrible everywhere.  Don’t be afraid of the double digits in this one.  The Falcons will make this look pretty easy.

Let’s win this money ya’ll.

Gotta do this quick but lets win some cash today!!!

Dallas (-3) at Green Bay over 48

It may sound pretty stupid but hey, I’m a very superstitious guy…Tony Romo is almost unbeatable in November.  The Cowboys are 6-2 ATS in there last 8 meetings with Green Bay.  The Packers offensive line is pretty damn offensive and that means Aaron Rodgers will once again be running for his life today.  I pretty much almost lost my lunch when the Packer defense basically made Josh Freeman look like Joe Montana last week as they gave the Bucs their first win of the season..Tony Romo and the Cowboys take care of business in Lambeau today.  Also, the over is 4-1 in their last 5 meetings and the balls will be flying so this is my over game too.

New England (+3) at Indianapolis

I really really hate going against Peyton Manning but this is too rich…The Colts are pretty ripe to be plucked tonight in Indy.  You just don’t go into a game with the Patriots with a bunch of backups playing in your secondary (just ask the Tennessee Titans).  I’m not saying that it will be 59-0 but it will be just enough of an opening to give the Colts their first loss.

New Orleans (-13.5) at St. Louis

This is gonna get ugly really fast..  The Saints are just too balanced and explosive on both sides of the ball for the Rams to even make this game close. Don’t look for the Saints to start out as slow as they did last week against the Carolina Panthers.  This will almost be like a college game today as the Saints are looking for some ‘style’ points today in St. Louis.

UPSET OF THE WEEK

Seattle (+9) at Arizona

Oddly enough, the Cardinals (1-3 at home) play better on the road.  The Seahawks have the revenge factor going for them this week as they got waxed in Seattle 27-3 in week 2.  This is definitely a helter skelter Cardinals team and today Seattle keeps it close and maybe even win this one SU.

Slick1006′s Sunday 11/8 NFL Picks

I have to bounce back from yesterday as it was probably my very worst day ever in NCAA football as a amateur handicapper.  I just seemed to get backdoored everywhere.  What do I have to do to catch up?  Get a couple of more picks today!!

Green Bay (-9.5) at Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay stays winless today against a Packer team that needs to put out their post Brett Favre aggression on someone.  Josh Johnson is nowhere near Brett Favre and it will show.  The Bucs are 1-8 ATS in their last eight overall and their defense gives up about 29 points per game.  Aaron Rodgers carves up the Bucs today and this will get pretty ugly.

Tennessee (+4.5) at San Francisco

Now I’m not saying that the Titans will win 10 games in a row now but I do believe that Vince Young has given them the spark that they needed.  I think that we should start seeing the ‘real’ Titans defense take advantage of a always underachieving Alex Smith.  Vince Young and Chris Johnson keeps this one close.

Baltimore (+3) at Cincinnati

The Ravens looked like they had took a time machine and arrived back in 2000 as they just intimidated a recently undefeated Denver Broncos team.  It’s about that time of the season when it’s time for that defense to really shine and that spells doom for Cedric Benson who rushed for 120 yards in his last game against the Ravens.  They are facing a totally different team this time around and the revenge factor is in.  Take the Ravens today.

San Diego (+5) at NY Giants

Eli Manning is still in a funk folks and Tom Coughlin is saying that this game is for the season.  The smoke and mirrors the Giants offense has been using with Plaxico Burress is starting to come to light.  The Chargers have too many playmakers on offense to let this one get out of hand.  The Giants defense has looked just terrible in their last three games giving up a average of 37 points per game.  The Giants can’t possibly lose 5 in a row can they?  Well, let’s just say that they won’t cover.

UPSET OF THE WEEK

Carolina (+12.5) at New Orleans

The Monday Night hangover comes into play here as we might just finally see the Saints’ hiccup game.  The Panthers finally streched their legs last week as they got their revenge on the Arizona Cardinals.  Just like last week, I am cheering for Jake Delhomme.  But then again, with that, I see the Panthers excellent running game keeping Drew Brees off the field.  That will keep this game close and the trends go toward the Panthers on this one (Road team is 15-2 ATS in the last 17 meetings, 8-0 ATS  int the last 8 in New Orleans and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings overall).  The Panthers will keep this one close.

Houston at Indianapolis over 48

The last eight meetings between these two teams have gone over, nuff said.

Washington at Atlanta under 41

The Redskins don’t score very much but they have a decent defense.  The Falcons will run early and often today so expect a grind it out low scoring game today.

This is my comeback for my bad luck yesterday.

Man, the NBA kicked my butt yesterday but there’s nothing like a little football to bring you back.  Got some real moneymakers for you today. Very short write ups today.

Rice at SMU (-17)

Winless Rice absolutely has no hope of stopping a June Jones SMU squad that’s looking to go to a bowl game.

Kent St. (-3.5) at Akron

Akron could be one of the worst schools in the NCAA.  Kent St. isn’t Texas but they should have more than enough to take care of the woeful Zips on the road today.

Texas A&M (-3) at Colorado

Colorado is still having problems at QB and they won’t have enough firepower to keep up with a Aggie team that is playing very well.

Houston (-1.5) at Tulsa

This would have been the Conference USA game of the year but Tulsa just isn’t what it used to be especially on offense.  Case Keenum and that Cougar offense is just way too explosive.

Troy at Western Kentucky over 64

Troy might get the 64 by themselves but W. Kentucky showed that they aren’t any pushovers on offense at they put up 49 against North Texas last week.  The points will be flying today in this game.

BLOWOUT OF THE WEEK

Vanderbilt at Florida (-35)

Not really going much on a limb on this one I know.  Teebow will see 3 quarters in a game he really won’t have to do much in for this game to get ugly.  The Commodores will feel like they had their eyes gouged out in this one.

Slick1006′s 11/5 Thursday Picks

Well, I didn’t do too good yesterday but I’ll bounce back tonight with a little NBA on TNT and also a NCAA Football pick for ya..

Chicago at Cleveland (-11)

It really looks like the Cavs are starting to play better after their slow start and I don’t want to hear how much worse they are going to be with Shaq on the team.  I want to know how many teams would pass up a chance to get a big man that averaged 18pts and 8 rebounds the year before?  As for big men, it looks like the Bulls will be without one tonight as Tyrus Thomas will be out with the flu and will not play.  That puts the task of stopping Shaq and King James on undersized Joakim Noah and Brad Miller who will probably get into a lot of foul trouble tonight.  The Bulls usually play horrid on the road and playing without Thomas doesn’t help.  Derrick Rose also has been starting out the gate pretty slow so with that it looks like its just too many things against the Bulls tonight.  The Cavs make it look easy tonight.

San Antonio at Utah over 198

This is a game that used have defense written all over it but times have changed and with point guards Tony Parker and Deron Williams running their respective offenses, they are running up tempo and they are scoring in bunches.  The Jazz especially have been having problems with defense this year as they are giving up over 105 points per game.  The Spurs are averaging over 103 points per game and their defense is not as tough on road.  Look for a high scoring affair in Utah as the over is 4-0 in their last 4 meetings.

Eastern Michigan at Northern Illinois under 49

Eastern Michigan won’t be doing much scoring and NIU will be eating up clock tonight in DeKalb.  Neither team has much of a passing game to speak of so the running games make sure that not many points will be scored tonight.  The last 5 meetings of these schools have gone under.  Go with the under tonight…I just love the MAAC.

Got it started right with the Hawks (+7) who won outright in Portland and the under.  Let’s make some more $ tonight.

Boston (-10) at Minnesota

The Celtics(4-1 ATS) are running on all cylinders starting this season with a healthy Kevin Garnett and a rejuvinated Rasheed Wallace.  The defense is better than ever as early in the season they are ranked #1 in scoring defense (79.8 pts/g).  Teams are only shooting 38% against them and they lead the NBA in rebounding.  The Timberwolves may be 3-1 ATS (17-36-1 ATS in their last 54 home games) this season but they are 1-3 overall and they don’t have enough defense (19th overall at 102.5/G) or enough firepower to keep up with the surging Celtics.  With Kevin Love still out and Al Jefferson still looking to find his groove, look for the Celtics to roll in Minnesota tonight.

Indiana at New York over 223.5

It’s nothing but running in gunning tonight as this game won’t show much defense at all and it will do nothing more but keep the time keeper on it’s toes because they won’t be holding on the ball much during this game as balls will be raining out the sky for all four quarters tonight.  The Knicks are 4-0 on the over this season and the Pacers are 7-2-1 on the over in their last 10.  These teams have topped the total 7 out of their last 10 meetings.  A shot clock won’t be a problem with these two teams tonight as they soar over the total.
